About Broderson Manufacturing Corp.
Broderson Manufacturing Corp. is a Kansas-based manufacturer of carry-deck and rough-terrain cranes. The company was founded in 1973 by Dean Broderson, an engineer who saw a need for more versatile, durable, and dependable cranes in industrial and manufacturing operations. Broderson cranes are used in oil refineries, petrochemical plants, mining sites, pulp and paper mills, mechanical contractor jobs, auto manufacturing facilities, and power plants, among other plant, facility, and project sites. Broderson’s product lineup includes nine carry-deck models available in different configurations and the RT-400 rough-terrain crane.

The History Of Broderson
Dean Broderson launched the company after ending an association with the Kansas-based RO Corporation, which eventually became part of Terex Cranes. Before introducing a full line of small lift cranes, Broderson’s first product was the Hydra-Hammer. During nearly five decades of operation, Broderson has carried out several plant expansions. In 2013, it produced its 10,000th crane. In 2016, the company invested in an extensive parts inventory that it now houses in a separate warehouse. Broderson also enhanced its parts-demand analysis tools, and improved its parts forecasting and replenishment processes in recent years.
Broderson Carry Decks
Broderson carry decks from the 2.3-metre (7.5-foot)-tall and 1.2-m (4-ft)-wide IC-20, which is ideal for working in confined spaces, to the IC-400, which has a 20-m (68-ft) boom and provides the longest reach of any model. The IC-20 can lift 2.3 tonnes (2.5 U.S. tons) and has a 1.1-t (1.2-U.S.-t) pick and carry capacity. The IC-400 can lift 22.7 t (25 U.S. t) and has an 11.3-t (12.5-U.S.-t) pick and carry capacity. The middle of the lineup includes the IC-80 (with an 8.2-t/9-U.S.-t lift capacity) and IC-200 (13.6 t/15 U.S. t), both of which are popular models on CraneTrader.ca. In 2021, Broderson introduced the new 18-t (20-U.S.-t)-capacity IC-280-A, its first carry-deck crane with standard telematics.
Broderson Rough-Terrain Cranes
The RT-400 can lift up to 18 t and has a maximum tip height of 30 m (99 ft). It has a four-section pick and carry boom with large cross-sectional mass and 360 degrees of continuous boom rotation. Its heavy-duty design includes redesigned steps that lead to an all-weather, climate-controlled cab. Another popular model on CraneTrader.ca, the RT-300 boasts rear-wheel steering, four-wheel steering, or crab steering modes just like the RT-400. Both cranes’ four-wheel-drive capabilities and ample ground clearance help them stay sure-footed on rocky, sloping, and slick terrain.
